29-11-2009 Minister Eurlings: New sea drain IJmuiden will be build
The decision has been made, the new sea drain at IJmuiden will be build. The new drain will be ready in 2016. The current drain is 80 years old and could be functional for another 20 years, but is to small for newer, bigger vessels. The new drain will be 150 meter long, 65 meter broad an has a depth of 18 meter, this is enough for the biggest vessels to enter the port area of Amsterdam.
Since we are located next to the port of Amsterdam, the new drain is good news for the CJ Hendriks Group. The biggest vessels from all over the world can be unloaded at a distance of less the 500 meter from our warehouses.
